Today, at Kongresni trg, the students who helped create the school lantern met with other schools and the mayor of Ljubljana, Mr Jankovič. It was nice to see all the colourful work and eat a croissant.

Christmas Play & Family Fair

Yesterday, we witnessed our last event of the calendar year. A marvelous Christmas Play prepared by our students and a very festive Family Christmas Fair, full of wintry wonders and activities, prepared by our PTA. It was really an unforgettable event which, along with the poignant play, included beautiful ballet and some classic Christmas songs all performed by the PYP students, making for wonderful preparation for the holiday Season, some of the teachers even got in on the act too.

Thank you all for your contribution!

Best wishes,

Santa’s Visit

This Tuesday Santa & his helpers found time in their frenetic schedule to pay a visit to Slovenia, and DKIS. The famous bearded man delivered his usual festive cheer, along with gifts for all the PYP children, for which they were very happy. We thank Santa for paying us a visit and wish him and his helpers all the best through the hectic holiday season, and of course a very merry Christmas to them, as well as all the children around the world!

Night in the School

Last Friday, the students who applied spent a night at the school. Even though the school can be quite scary when it is empty, dark and it is raining outside, the students had a lot of fun. They showed the knowledge they gain at school in a quiz and the winning team won ‘couch privileges’. They prepared their own dinner and watched a Christmas themed film. And to top it all off, they joined a spontaneous pillow fight before bed time in the auditorium. In the morning, they enjoyed pancakes prepared by Ms Mateja, followed by a scavenger hunt around the school and games in the gym. All in all, the event was a success and the students, as well as the teachers, had quite a few laughs spending time with each other outside of the usual learning environment.

Kindergarten Baking Morning

On Friday December 9. the kindergarten students spent two lessons in the school’s home economics classroom, where they baked cookies. They were eager to participate during the whole process from kneading the dough to cracking eggs and, finally, putting different shapes of the raw cookie dough on baking trays. While the cookies were in the oven, they enjoyed dancing to different Slovenian holiday songs. After the cookies had cooled off, we had a tea party in our classroom, which was a perfect ending to a pleasant morning.
