BIOEN RETURNS TO 4M

Mr. Miha Večko from the BioEn company surprised 4M students once again… After his presentation at the end of February, when he introduced how the BioEn company works, he came back to reward the students for the amazing knowledge and behaviour they displayed the first time they met. Each of the students was given a BioEn T-shirt with the slogan There are no problems. Only solutions. This motto sums up perfectly the way Mr. Maksimov’s company is facing large amounts of bio-waste.

Notice for Help

Dear students and parents,
We are Polina and Rayne from 7.m. For our Research Project we decided to investigate the problem of homelessness in Ljubljana and to help the shelters in what they might need.
Based on our research, the shelters, namely the Kralji ulice association, would appreciate if you have any old clothes, shoes, bags and blankets you do not need anymore. We will set up a gathering point for any items you might bring next to the reception. At the same time, we will offer some issues of the Kralji ulice magazine that you will be able to purchase there as well.
We will be collecting any items next week, from Monday, 18 March, to Friday, 22 March.
Thank you in advance for your contributions.
Polina and Rayne

3, 4 & 5M Cultural Day – A Performance of King Matjaž

On Wednesday, March 13th, students from 3M, 4M and 5M had a Cultural day. We took a bus to the city centre and walked to Cankarjev dom. There we saw the narrative and musical performance Kralj Matjaž by Anja Štefan, a Slovenian writer, and Boštjan and Janez, professional musicians. By narrating legends and with a dramatic musical background, the performers magically took students into the world of a Slovenian hero who is now sleeping under the Peca mountain in the Koroška region.

Shrove Tuesday

The teachers of the afternoon programme organised a small festive lesson on Shrove Tuesday for students in the afternoon programme. Students brought and wore interesting masks and presented themselves. The pupils were very mindful and listened to each other during the presentations. After, they enjoyed the remaining time dancing and having fun with fellow masks and teachers and munched on delicious “flancati”. Based on their facial expressions, they had a lot of fun!

MYP Excursion to Zagreb

We embarked towards Zagreb on a sunny Wednesday. The drive was pleasant and despite a short hold up at the border, we arrived safe and eager to visit the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum.
The students enjoyed the story of Nikola Tesla, arguably the greatest inventor of our time, which was told through a series of experiments. Many students could experience them hands-on as well. We had a great lunch in Zagreb city centre, next to the majestic cathedral. The day was too short, yet sweet and we returned safely and full of new impressions.
