Visit to the Home for the Elderly

The 6M students took a visit to the Home for the Elderly in Bežigrad once more. The students again showed that they were excellent communicators, coming prepared with various board games, explaining the instructions and competing in the games with the residents. Both the students and the residents had fun and enjoyed each other’s company.

Additional information from the Turkish Embassy:
“Please be advised that our Embassy managed to collect enough clothes, footwear and food.”

 Currently due to logistical reasons we are only able to accept the following priority materials:

 -tents,
-blankets/
-sleeping bags,
-tent mats
-Portable gas heaters
-generators
-power bank.

 We kindly ask that you please inform donators to make donations consisting only of these priority aid materials.

On behalf of our Turkish community and especially our 3M student Poyraz, I am sending you the following request: In Turkey we had a really bad earthquake with devastating consequences. A lot of people died and the survivors are without their homes and in need of many things:

Winter clothing (adult and children)
Coats – Jackets – Raincoats
Boots – Jumpers
Trousers – Gloves – Scarves
Hats – Socks

Underwear – Tent – Bed
Mattress (for tent)
Blanketss
Sleeping Bags
Catalytic Gas Stove, Heater
Thermos

Generator

Food box (resistant food item – canned)
Baby formula and food
Diapers
Cleaning and hygiene materials
Sanitary napkin
