Despite the bad weather, 11 motivated students attended the environmental camp at CŠOD Cerkno.
Most of their time was spent outside in beautiful unspoilt nature. They explored  the local sites and learnt about the Carnival tradition “Cerkljanski laufarji”. They also walked to the World War II Franja Hospital. The tour was led by an experienced guide and the students learnt a lot of new interesting facts.

The students also tested their manual skills and took up challenges such as building a Da Vinci Bridge, building a polygon for a ball, and experimenting with water. They also built a camp in the forest and were very persistent in lighting the fire without matches.

In the guest book at the Franja Hospital there was a quote by a past student visitor: “How could they be so smart in those times?”. Let this be a cue to talk about the real nature of meaning of learning, skills, school, real-life problems and sustainable development.
