MYP Science Day – Škocjan Caves

On Wednesday, May 10n the MYP students visited the Škocjan caves. Škocjan caves are some of the largest and stunning cave systems in Slovenia and in this part of Europe. Its underground halls and canyons are also on the Unesco World Heritage list.

Renovation of Dunajska Cesta

Due to the renovation of Dunajska cesta, which is expected to last until November, there may be increased traffic in the vicinity of our school. We urge you to exercise extra caution in road traffic and ask parents to have a separate conversation with their children about this. Labour Day

International Workers’ Day or Labour Day is celebrated 1 May each year. This is a tradition that continues in more than 60 countries. It is the day that commemorates the struggles and gains made by workers and the labour movement. Labour Day has been a national holiday in Slovenia since 1946.

Did you know that the first Labour Day in the USA was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City? Did you know who started the celebration of Labour Day? Most sources state that Matthew Maguire was the father of Labour Day. He was a famous union leader of the 19th century.
