Tim Burns’ Presentations

On Thursday and Friday, 21st and 22nd March, Tim Burns, an expert on brain development, digital dementia and mindfulness, gave his Amazing Brain presentations to students, parents and teachers. The presentation gave several Peak Performance brain tips that can be immediately and usefully applied to improve and enhance brain function. Topics included: the basic architecture and development of the growing brain; the importance of diet and hydration, exercise and sleep; the important role of downtime and mindfulness meditation in augmenting learning; the perils and promise of screen technology on the maturing brain; the crucial and exciting upgrades taking place during the teen years; and much more. The presentation drew many questions from the audience and was highly informative, engaging and enjoyable.
A big thank you to Mr Burns.

Notice for Help

Dear students and parents,
We are Polina and Rayne from 7.m. For our Research Project we decided to investigate the problem of homelessness in Ljubljana and to help the shelters in what they might need.
Based on our research, the shelters, namely the Kralji ulice association, would appreciate if you have any old clothes, shoes, bags and blankets you do not need anymore. We will set up a gathering point for any items you might bring next to the reception. At the same time, we will offer some issues of the Kralji ulice magazine that you will be able to purchase there as well.
We will be collecting any items next week, from Monday, 18 March, to Friday, 22 March.
Thank you in advance for your contributions.

3, 4 & 5M Cultural Day – A Performance of King Matjaž

On Wednesday, March 13th, students from 3M, 4M and 5M had a Cultural day. We took a bus to the city centre and walked to Cankarjev dom. There we saw the narrative and musical performance Kralj Matjaž by Anja Štefan, a Slovenian writer, and Boštjan and Janez, professional musicians. By narrating legends and with a dramatic musical background, the performers magically took students into the world of a Slovenian hero who is now sleeping under the Peca mountain in the Koroška region.
