Students of grades 6,7, 8m, and 8i enjoyed their English lessons outside (due to the reading promotion event Knjižnica pod krošnjami) on Monday, September 12. They read and analysed poetry connected with their units of inquiry (Shakesperean sonnets,etc.).

On 22nd September, the MYP students participated in a Cultural Day, which explored the topic of space. Their artwork will be entered into the international art contest of the American Space Foundation. This year’s theme was “Space through my eyes”.
The students explored the watercolour and salt technique for the background and could choose form various media to create their motif. The focus was on their imagination and being risk-takers.

On 22nd September, as part of European Mobility Week, all grades from the international dept. and grade 3 classes from the national dept. took a walk to a local residential area, Mucherjeva street, and had a line dance lesson. The children danced with enthusiasm and gusto, having a great time in the process! Some of the teachers also found their dancing shoes. A great time was had by all! We would also like to thank the local community, who received us warmly and joined in the fun too!

After a short cultural programme prepared by the choir of grade 2 and 3 students of national programme, the cheerleaders from the international department and the parent-teacher choir “Na istem bregu”, our headmistress, Mrs. Mojca Mihelič and the mayor of Ljubljana, Mr. Zoran Janković addressed students, parents and teachers. The culmination of the event was the football match between Danila Kumar Football Academy players and our teachers and parents. The mayor of Ljubljana, Mr. Janković joined the academy players and excelled with his engaged and energetic performance. (more…)

On Thursday, 15th September, the students of grade 4 spent some time outside, reading under the trees. This was a nice way of encouraging reading for pleasure and an activity that we all liked. We had fun.
